• 5 Ways To Elevate Your Life In 2020

As humans, the only constant thing is change. This is a saying most of us have heard all our lives. Change is constant because life is unpredictable. However, change doesn’t automatically guarantee an elevation in one’s life.

You have to create your own elevation by taking actionable steps to better your Personal development.

A new year promises a fresh start and as such, it’s the best time to develop new habits, set goals and change lifestyle routines.

    Elevate your life 2020

Here are 5 ways you can elevate your life this new year.

    1. Understanding Self

There’s nothing that elevates your life as much as understanding yourself does.

Make out time to properly understudy and understand things like what makes you happy? What makes you sad? What wears you out and sends you into a rut? What are your best ways to relieve stress and so on.

When you know what makes you tick and what makes you not to, it’s easy to take actionable steps to do the things you love and ignore\avoid the ones that take your joy away. Hence, you can optimize yourself to have an insanely happy and productive year. The key is knowing who you are: your strengths and weaknesses.

    2. Learn and Unlearn

Learning is synonymous to gaining more knowledge and just like the good book says, “wisdom/Knowledge is profitable to direct”.

The world is constantly evolving, if you aim to truly alleviate your life in 2020, then be open-minded to learning more and also unlearning certain unhealthy habits and traits.

Want to know why you are wiser in your 20’s than you were during your teenage days? the answer is simple- you learnt and became a better person.

Learning is great for your personal development, also unlearning does you a world of good, as it avails you the opportunity to do away with what’s not needed, so there’s more space to be better.

So, in 2020, read more books, listen to great podcasts, study your environment and choose to truly learn and implement/use the knowledge gained to better yourself.

    3. Just Do It

This is literally my word of the year 2020- Do it, Do better. 2019 was a phenomenal year for me, yet I held back and let some golden opportunities go. Come 2020, I plan to do better and so should you.

While going through the amazing @SalemKinging’s Instagram page today, I came across his post on how 2019 has been for him and one significant message I picked up was how a simple act of just doing it gave him his biggest break and steered the course of his year for the better.

Elevate your life in 2020, challenge yourself to write that book, start that business, learn that skill, harness that skill, monetize that knowledge and grab those opportunities with outstretched arms.

    4. Protect Your Peace

Protecting your peace cannot be over-emphasized. The line between being happy and falling into depression is a thin one. As one who has experienced first hand how lack of peace of mind can utterly muddle up one’s thoughts, actions and life, I have come to realise the importance of “guarding my peace and sanity preciously”.

Elevate your life in 2020 by choosing peace. By watching that reaction, by staying away from whatever threatens your sanity be it; your lover, friend or even family. You will see how much change your life will experience when you eradicate toxicity and embrace peace.

    5. Celebrate The Wins and Losses

I know, it sounds insane to celebrate both wins and losses, but practising this can greatly affect your outlook towards life. When you learn how far gratitude can take you, you’ve cracked one of the codes to a better life.

2020 is 12 months long, every month will come with its wins and maybe losses. It is up to you to decide what narrative you will let control you. Life is a game, you win some and lose some but don’t just celebrate the wins and allow the losses to deter your struggle. Instead choose to have the mindset of “After every fall, I rise”. Your comeback might not be instantaneous (hardly is) but if you keep trying, your failure will be the learning curve you use to shape your success.

I am greatly rooting for you this beautiful year. You are a bundle of talent and skillset, the world awaits you.

Here’s my big wish for you this year- May your tomorrow be greater and better than your yesterday.

    Happy New Year!!!
