Beauty and Skincare Products For June 2018
I’ve been meaning to do such a post for a really long time. I totally love lusting over things both those I can afford and those way out of my reach. It’s no surprise window shopping is one of my favourite pastimes. However, I have decided to document my lust for various products on my blog, so whenever I can afford any, I will come back to the blog post, scroll through, purchase it and sate my lust. My beauty and skin care products for June 2018.
I struggled with what to title this post because it’s going to be a monthly feature. I thought of beauty favourites, monthly lust list, wish list etc. But as much as they are all related, I didn’t think they did justice to the concept I had for this post and besides a lot of bloggers already use those terms. So I decided to use something closely related but not overly saturated in the blogging world.
Hence, the term want-list. I wish to own every product on this list but heck that won’t be possible unless I want to splurge and stay hungry for the rest of the month, so like I said, I will pick one or two to buy and at the end of the year, we shall take stock of which want became a reality and which didn’t make the cut. For this first edition, I have decided to choose affordable products.
If you are interested, you can totally join me and every month try to purchase a product from my list to add to your beauty/skin care regimen. I promise to only add valuable products with great reviews.
LET’S GET STARTED
KAYGE COSMETICS POP LIP-GLOSS
Price- N2500
I recently attended the launch of a new lip gloss from Kayge cosmetics and even though i am not big on lip glosses, I liked this one or I think I like it from the swatches I saw. So first on my want-list of beauty and skin care products for June 2018 is the PoP lip gloss from Kayge cosmetics
see photos from the launch below
HEGAI AND ESTHER BROW DEFINER
Price- N2500
I have never used a brow cream before. Always been the Brow pencil type but lately I’ve been itching to explore other ways to get the fleekest eyebrows and I am lusting over getting a brow definer especially that of Hegai and Esther. If you read my affordable foundations for Nigerian/ dark skin women, I mentioned the H&E brow definer.
COLOURPOP NO FILTER CONCEALER
PRICE- $6
Changing to a lightweight concealer is what I’ve been itching to do. I’ve only used concealers from Maybelline, Milani and of course LA girl. The La girl secret cover concealer has been my go to concealer for years. It does an awesome job and is pretty affordable too but I do not like that it feels heavy on the face. I have seen a lot of my favourite yotubers use the colourpop concealer and it’s pretty affordable too. Also colourpop delivers to Nigeria and you can use your Nigerian cards to pay. See other makeup brands that deliver to Nigeria.
The Ordinary Mandelic Acid
Deciem’s products are a crowd fave and it’s no surprise they made it into my beauty and skincare products for June 2018. Lately, I have been considering chemical exfoliation and after binge reading posts by Sheisnaturallybronze, I am finally willing to try it out and the product on my want-list for this is the original mandelic acid because unlike other acids in the original family, the mandelic acid is gentler and hence is a perfect pick for a chemical exfoliation newbie.
DEW OF HERMON_NG ROSE CLAY SUGAR SCRUB
Price-N1500.
I came across the brand on Instagram a few months back and I am absolutely in love with the brand’s aesthetics. They have some really beautiful products but my fave is the rose clay scrub. What caught my fancy is the “rose”. I have tried out a traditional sugar scrub, which I wrote about here and it was good for my skin. So when I came across this, I made a mental note to try it out.
ARAMI ESSENTIALS ONYX BODY POLISH
Price- N2500
Dear Arami, i have been lusting over you for the longest time! This product has a place in my heart. It’s hands down one of the best made in Nigeria skincare brands out there. I wanted to get the glow scrub last month until I went through their website and saw delivery costs 2500 Naira. I was gobsmacked! Delivery costs almost as much as the product in question. The onyx body polish is a mix of African black soap, honey and several essential oils. This product has garnered a lot good of reviews including that of Dimma Umeh, one of Nigeria’s finest YouTube beauty bloggers.
One major issue I have with shopping online is having to pay delivery fees that costs as much as the product itself. It completely irks me off.
Do you love to window shop too? What products are you currently lusting after?
Do you like this post? I am open to suggestion on how to make it better.
