Product Review: Nuage Miccelar Cleansing Water

I found the Nuage micellar cleansing water by mistake. I had gone to buy the very popular Garnier micellar cleansing water only to find out that it wasn’t available. While I was looking through the skincare products on display at the store I found the Nuage Micellar cleansing water and I’m so glad that I did.

I have been using this product for over two months now. I started using it before I set out for my Nysc. The plan was actually to use it for about 2 weeks and do a review but I found out that I didn’t use the product enough to review it. Hence, I pushed the review forward until I had used the product some more.

If you are a consistent blog reader, you will know that I review products based on five things.

    • Packaging
    • Affordability/Availability
    • Quantity
    • Quality
    • My Experience

    What is Micellar Cleansing Water?

As always with all my product review posts, I like to give background information on the product. Especially for those who do not know because I don’t like to assume that everyone is well-informed about a product I am reviewing.

So, I’ll be telling you what micellar water is, what it is made up of and the benefits of Micellar water.

Micellar water is basically water with micelles in it. Micelles is a surfactants that contain tiny balls of oil that can draw out dirt and oil from your skin. They are not abrasive they do not contain astringent they and is gentle on the skin.

    Benefits of Micellar Water.

    1. It’s easy to use,
    2. Can be used as both a cleanser and a makeup remover
    3. Doesn’t require a rinse off so you can simply apply your micellar water and go about your day.
    4. Effectively removes makeup including eye makeup products such as glitter glue

Review of the Nuage Micellar cleansing water

    Packaging:

The product comes in a pretty basic bottle with pink details ( labeling and cap). The labels are simple and easy to read save for the ones in the colour pink. The product description, direction to use, ingredients, warning and company details are clearly written at the back of the bottle.

    Nuage Micellar cleansing water

The Nuage Micellar cleansing water comes with a hole for dispensing which I consider rather large. Because it gives room for the product to spill when placed in tight places as the cap isn’t sturdy.

    Nuage Micellar cleansing water

This product doesn’t come in a pack. It comes exactly as displayed in the photo above. Overall I think the packaging is cute and I give it a 4.5/10.

    Affordability/Availability:

The Nuage Micellar cleansing water is the definition of affordable. At N790, I consider this to be very affordable as other Micellar cleansing water retail from N2000 upwards.

Gladly, the Nuage Micellar cleansing water is not just affordable, it is readily available too. I purchased mine at a department store in Port-Harcourt (Next cash&carry) for N790 but I have seen this product in many supermarkets in Lagos including Just rite super stores, Ikorodu and ShopRite at Novare mall Lekki. It is also available online on Jumia. Although it is far more expensive on Jumia (over N3000), which is just crazy. You can also find it on Amazon.

    Quantity:

The Nuage Micellar cleansing water gives a generous 200ml of product. I say generous because for the price of less than a thousand naira, that’s a lot of product. Amazingly, a little go a long way. So a 200ml bottle can last you up to 2 months or more depending on your usage.

    Quality:

The quality of this product is surprisingly good. One thing about buying low-priced product is the fear of whether they will do a good job or not. The Nuage Micellar cleansing water does a great job.

Although all the ingredients are not cruelty free, they pose no serious threat to your skin.Nuage Micellar cleansing water

However I advise you read through the ingredients list before purchase to find out if there’s anything you react to.

What encouraged me to purchase this product was that it contains Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Chamomile flower extract. And if you know me, you will know I am growing big on using vitamins not just for my health but also on my skin. So I was happy that it contains vitamin E.

The quality of the Nuage Miccelar cleansing water is really good. It effectively removes makeup, cleanses and soothes the skin.

Overall I will rate the quality, 7/10.

My Experience using the Nuage Miccelar cleansing water:

The first day I tried this product out, I immediately knew I would write a Nuage Micellar cleansing water review because it completely took off every trace of makeup from my face. I usually use it as the last step in removing my makeup. I start with baby oil, use wipes and finally soak up a cotton pad with the Nuage Micellar cleansing water and clean my face.

This product doesn’t require a rinse off, so I simply proceed to my other skincare routine.

However I find I get a tingling feeling while using this product but it’s not a strong tingling feeling. It’s just mild but I feel it’s necessary to mention that. So you don’t panic when you experience same.

The Nuage Micellar cleansing water is perfect for my dry skin as it isn’t drying and neither is it hydrating although the description says it hydrates. However, From my experience it is not. It just doesn’t dry you out.

To balance the equation, I made my cousin who has a normal to oily skin try the Nuage Micellar cleansing water and she loved it because it drew out the oil from her usually oily spots and took off her makeup well.

Overall, my experience with the Nuage MicelMic cleansing water has been a good one and I will surely restock once I run out.

The only con I have is the not so secure cap that allows for easy spillage. I give the Nuage Micellar cleansing water a 7/10.

I have also found some other Interesting ways to use the Nuage Micellar cleansing water in my skincare routine and I will be sharing them soon. So subscribe and stay tuned to my blog.

Yeah. I agree with your review on this. I used it last year and somehow just stopped and I’ve regretted it ever since. I found the Nuage Face Wash and it was a great help to my skin. The face wash is currently out-of-stock in most supermarkets I’ve been to but if you find it, please give it a try. I’ll keep looking for the cleanser and the water. And both of them cost a little over N900 each. Never used something this active and affordable at the same time.
