Rumour Has It Season 2 Episode 5 Review.
An episode of truths, betrayal and most importantly getting to see the two-faced sides of most of the characters. Rumour has it season 2 Episode 5 definitely snatched my wig in an effortless 17 minutes of heart-felt tension which most people call suspense.
To Love Or To Be Doomed!
This episode begins with Dolapo coming out of a place to find her tires flat. She seeks for help to fix them and to her utmost surprise, she turns back to find Femi doing the repairs. She flips and screams we are over Femi, it was all a mistake and Femi loses his cool and gets violent. He leaves with a two-faced look on his face that reads to Love or to be doomed.
I Found Love In A Hopeless Place
I bet this is the song Ranti is going to be singing for a long while after walking in on her new boyfriend trying to hack her blog. After she thought he was her fairytale love story come through.
Or Maybe Not
Charles confronts Arinze and informs him that he isn’t going to continue working for him to try to ruin Ranti. And goes ahead to threaten Arinze if any harm comes to Ranti. What a twist! Maybe this love story between Charles and Ranti isn’t all hopeless.
I Don’t Wish To Be You Dolapo
Dolapo finds out she’s pregnant from her doctor. She is all excited and can’t wait to share the good news with her husband. If you have seen previous episodes you will know that he had fertility issues and finally got treated for it.
Dolapo is obviously ecstatic as they have been trying to conceive for 5 years. She rushes home to break the news only to find him, eyes fixed to the screen, tears dripping down and low and behold he is watching a sex tape of her and Femi. Episode 5 comes to an end.
MY REVIEW: WHAT GIFT THINKS.
First of all this episode is titled Janus and after reading up on the Roman God named Janus, I finally understand this episode better.
Janus is the God of doorways, transition, time, duality and new beginnings. it’s symbol has two faces, one looking towards the past and another towards the future. It’s known as a two-faced creature and that’s exactly what we saw in rumour has it season 2 episode 5.
A lot of characters were revealed to be two-faced. Femi revealed to be a deranged vindictive fellow, Charles to be a betrayal, Ranti to be nothing better than the Obi she so loathes and of course Dolapo revealed to her husband and the rest of the world as the cheating wife.
Dolapo definitely didn’t handle all of this well. First of all you find out a man is a psycho stalking you and rather than feed his ego and play coy while buying time to plan your next move. You go ahead and read him his rights. Did I just say rights, actually you read him absolutely no right to you. A woman he is obsessed about and like a typically psycho he comes for your blood, sweat and tears.
Ranti on the other hand didn’t play smart in this episode. For the two-faced girl we all knew in season 1 who leaked all her bosses secrets to a rival blog to actually stealing her bosses blog. She didn’t act smart by leaving her home opened to a stranger she’s meeting for the second time. Well maybe love clouded her brain.
If I were in Ranti’s shoes, we are definitely getting you to the I.C.U.
Now to the issue of Charles trying to hack her blog. As a blogger, if I find you trying to hack into my blog, oh boy I am going to take off my wig and dig it out with you in a very unpleasant way. I mean my blog is my business, my intellectual property and all. However I felt none of that while watching Charles hack into Ranti’s blog. After all she snatched the blog from someone else and so rightfully deserves whatever karma serves her.
Making Ranti catch Charles was a good one. Because if Charles succeeded in hacking the site for Arinze so easily. I would honestly be disappointed with the script writers because right from the get go, movie critics like me, already deciphered that Charles was a hacker.
I can’t wait to see how they twist it, can’t wait to see if Ranti and Charles gets back together and if she will still trust him. Most especially I can’t wait to see what this move means for Ranti’s karma.
And the world knows.
I meant it when I said I don’t wish to be Dolapo. Having your dirty little secret out in the open in such a way is way beyond disastrous. Especially as a respected and well-known married woman who just discovered she’s pregnant.
I am of the opinion that secrets like this shouldn’t be kept hidden from partners. If Dolapo told her husband herself, she would have been able to do damage control and tune the story to suit her. Probably played on the “lonely wife” card as the reason for cheating.
I know a lot of you are going to start screaming Gift! How dare you give such advice. I know, trust me I know, there’s no justifiable reason for cheating on your spouse but if a man can cheat with a flimsy excuse such as he wasn’t getting enough attention from his wife and society sides with him, why can’t it be the same with the woman?. Just something to ponder on.
What to expect in rumour has it season 2, Episode 6.
The obvious is Dolapo’s life falling apart as well as her marriage. I also think Arinze will restrategize and come back for Ranti. If you watched season 1, you must know that the money from the blog was his meal ticket and without it being under Obi’s control, that meal ticket is definitely gone. And we all know a hungry man is an angry man.

I have been meaning to start a review series on rumour has it season 2. But for some reasons, I haven’t been faithful to this. If you would like me to recap from episode 1-4, then let me know in the comment section.
