Rumour Has It Season 2 Episode 6 Review.
In Rumour Has It Season 2 Episode 6, the effects of the betrayals in Episode 5, came down in full force on Dolapo; her marriage crashed, her life crashed, her reputation crashed and all this happened while she was wearing one dress.
Do I need to spell it out? Rumour has it Season 2 Episode 6 was one heck of a sad story as I predicted in my review of Episode 5. But that wasn’t all Episode 6 had to offer. It also showed us more about the character called Ranti as well as more reasons to suspect Dolapo’s husband Franklin of shady dealings.
Summary: Crashing! Crashing! Crashing! Hell! Can someone hit the brakes already!
I already said I don’t wish to be Dolapo in my review of episode 5. And right now I am reiterating that.
Episode 6 begins and we can hear Dolapo’s voice in the background begging Franklin to forgive her. Soon after they come into view and it’s glaring that Franklin has decided to leave as he is seen carrying his box. Amidst Dolapo’s pleas, her leaves.
Dolapo calls Femi and berates him for making a sex tape and releasing it without her consent. Femi says without baiting an eye, “he gave the sex tape to Ranti to publish on Rumour has it because he loves Dolapo and doesn’t want anything to come between them”.
Ranti calls Dolapo and tries to fish for more juicy stories. Dolapo is utterly disappointed and disgusted by Ranti’s behaviour.
On the other side, Franklin gets into a brawl with some guys at a pool who made mockery of his sexual skills over his wife’s sex tape.
While Back home, Dolapo’s friends Khadijah and Michelle try to console her and cheer her up.
Episode 6 comes to an end after Dolapo accost Franklin in a hotel lobby to beg him for forgiveness. It is revealed that Dolapo caught Franklin with a lady the same night she slept with Femi. Franklin goes into his room and slams the door, he proceeds to make a phone call which reiterates suspicions that he has a secret he is hiding.
MY REVIEW: WHAT GIFT THINKS
This episode is titled “Time Out” and all through I kept wondering time out for what? Time out for who?. But the closest answer I got was time out for Dolapo and thinking about it now, I am sure it has to be for Dolapo because in this episode both Karma and Nemesis caught up with her. It was a total time out for her crime of infidelity. But on the other hand I think the title “time out” is referring to Franklin who left home and like time out in a football match means break, I think it refers to Franklin breaking up with Dolapo. Anyway, Episode 7 will definitely give us more insights to what the title of Rumour has it season 2 episode 6 means.
I curse the day I met you, Dolapo says to Femi.
Really who wouldn’t? I think that phone call finally made Dolapo understand that she’s dealing with a psychopath. Femi didn’t even flinch, even after Dolapo ended the call, he still had this “you are mine” look on his face and gosh let’s not forget the aggressive way he munched on those unfortunate popcorn. Who eats something so delicious in such a cruel way? Your best bet is a mad man.
Dolapo is definitely filled with regrets and it doesn’t even look like Femi is anywhere near the word, done.
Even the devil has a soul.
Dear RIH fans, we have to give Ranti one credit though. She is a damn smart young lady seemingly void of a heart. She sees the huge opportunity in the scandal and like a typical Nigerian Gossip blogger, she continues to scavenge for every bits and pieces to fuel the story and invariably drive major traffic to her blog. Which by the chart shown on her tab has obviously experienced a Spike in traffic, up to a 120% or more increase ratio and still our girl isn’t satisfied.
What do you think of Ranti’s actions? Do you think it’s a necessary evil considering she is just doing her job as a gossip blogger or do you think she is just being wicked with her actions?
Can we all have friends like Michelle and Khadijah please.
Both women, Dija and Michelle, a mixture of composed and crazy respectively. Showed us that they are friends to Dolapo. They come over to support her and are not being overly judgemental like most people would. Fine, they gossiped a bit and sat down all dressed up, drinking wine which was unreal. But we can excuse that on the basis that they exude this aura of grandiose. And Michelle is definitely a case, her focus was on Dolapo teaching her the sex styles in the video.. #Smh
If only we all have friends like that who are always there in time of need and not like the ones I wrote about in my when friends turn monsters post, read here.
Who else wants friends like Khadijah and Michelle?
What is Franklin hiding?
He is always making suspicious phone calls and after hearing Dolapo say she caught him with a woman the same night she slept with Femi and he neither denied nor accepted it. I think Franklin has a lot of secrets and I am eagerly waiting for the drama to unfold.
I am also of the opinion that Dolapo probably had sex with Femi as a “revenge” for catching Franklin with another woman.
Which brings me to the question, is it right to cheat on your spouse because he/she cheated as well.
What I don’t understand in this episode is why Dolapo is still wearing the same dress. If we remember from episode 5, she is wearing the same dress and she returns home at night. Episode 6 begins the next day because it’s all bright and sunny when Franklin opens the door and yet Dolapo is still in the same clothes. You can argue that she was too concerned with her dilemma to remember to take off a pretty tight dress but why then did she remember to still keep her hair and face looking pretty?
Also I don’t think it was necessary to use the sounds from the sex tape as part of the soundtrack for this episode. I definitely didn’t see that coming and y’all need to see the way I rushed to tune down my volume before my parents think I am watching some other thing. We already heard the sex tape audio in episode 5 and I don’t see any significance it added to Episode 6.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM EPISODE 7
I am going to be honest and say I don’t know what to expect from Episode 7. We all know the sex tape drama will still be trending but that’s something everyone else must already know.
However, I am getting this vibe that Franklin is working hand in hand with Femi. I know it’s a wide guess but look it at this way. He is always up to suspicious things and how did Femi find out all that details about Dolapo. I think he had inside help and can it be mere coincidence that Dolapo met Femi, the same day Franklin returned from London? What if he is looking for a way to end the marriage without being seen as the bad person.
There are so many questions, so many why’s and what if’s but we don’t have a choice than to wait and see the drama unfold.
Thorough analysis! I love the show sha, but this part killed me:
“Who eats something so delicious in such a cruel way? Your best bet is a mad man.” LMAOOO I swear! The way he was so calm as he was talking to her. Frankly Dolapo pissed me off, she kept being on the phone when she didn’t need to be. Femi enjoyed every single damn second, and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I hated the scene with Ranti too, she says don’t call this number but stays on to listen to whatever rubbish Ranti has to say – ugh! Lmao then after the call Ranti calls her mother as if just remembering – that was pretty funny. Bottomline is, I don’t feel bad for Dolapo and she messed up – all her crying scenes annoyed me. Sis! Stahppppp! Why isn’t Femi locked up yet? He isn’t going anywhere o. I wish Dolapo would tell her friends about Femi before he cuts her up or snatches her wig/weave and keeps it as a souvenir.
Keep the posts coming oh
