THE BODY COUNT CONVOS

A while ago, i was single and searching and so when a friend asked me out on a date, i didn’t hesitate to say yes!. I spent the rest of the day trying to figure out what to wear (i mean a girl has to look great on the very first date…right?). After ransacking my wardrobe in search of the perfect outfit, i proceeded to do my makeup and oh! it was such a struggle as i was having a bad eye brow day.

Well i told myself “no bad eye brow is going to make me chicken out and miss my Mr right”. Little did i know that i was walking into two hours of pure boredom and unnecessary talks.

my friend turned date never stopped talking about himself, he raved on and on and i just sat there trying to act interested while in my mind, i was planning all those ” i need to quickly use the bathroom kind of escape”.

After about one hour of his endless chattering, he finally asked me a question and in my head i was like…Oh! you finally realized you are on a date…..and there is someone other than you here, until it hit me that the question he asked was how many guys have you slept with.

Needless to say i was surprised but foolish me still went ahead to answer and guess what? he replied saying;  you ladies are never truthful with your answer when it comes to this issue, in fact i have learnt that if a lady says she has slept with just 2 guys, you should actually double it or triple it to get the real number.

At this point i didn’t need a bathroom escape plan to get my ass up and walk away from him and the so called date.

Most painful part was when i remembered my eye brow and cloth struggle just to look good for a date that was a total waste of time( perfect example of what is called bad market)

His name is peter and since then, i avoid people going on dates with guys named Peter. 

However last night, while indulging in wild thoughts, i remembered Peter and his question and i said to myself, i have to share this and who better to share than with you my wonderful blog fam.

The body count convos

Body count is a term used to describe how many sexual encounters one has had. In other words body count means how many people you have had sex with be it a one night stand or as the case may be.

A lot of people especially in Nigeria would term a lady with a high body count as being promiscuous and a guy as a player. however most times it is the lady that faces discrimination a lot when it comes to this issue as they are considered wayward, the guys on the other hand are even applauded by their friends for having so many sexual conquest.

In  a lot of relationship, this issue remains a valid problem between the couple because most times its brings about dishonesty because no one wants to tell his or her partner that their body count is going to 20 or 50 or 100.

Some that have been truthful about their body count status have regrets especially the ladies.

Imagine this scenario, Amaka tells her lover Micheal that she has slept with over  10 men, Micheal hears this and says to himself  ‘’so  10 others have been there before me? How good were they? What if they were better than I am.

Such thoughts can eventually lead to insecurity and before you know, issues start springing up all because Amaka told the truth.

Some guys say they can’t marry a lady with a high body count meanwhile the rate of theirs can break the internet. They back it up further by saying their sexual organs are external and that of women internal so too many sexual partners can tell on them (PS. i think this is plain stupid).

So my question goes thus

sex is sex right? So what makes it different when it comes to ladies, why is it that men can have several sexual partners and not be judged but once it’s a woman, all hell break loose.

I remember watching an episode of BKchatLDN where they discussed something similar to this and the guys on the show vehemently stated that they can not be with a woman whose body count is above 5 while some of the ladies said they cant be with a man whose body count reads above 10.

The body count issue remains a key problem within our society and trust me when I say some relationships have gone sour because of this body count thing.

Which is why today I want us to discuss this, the body count convos.
