• 3 Things To Do At The Beginning Of The Month

If you are here, then it’s most likely the start of a new month and you’re yearning to learn a thing or two on how to make the best use of the month. I’m glad you are here, however, sorry to burst your bubble, there’s no laid-down-rule on how to ensure your month turn out right and that’s because life is fickle and so is time. Case study- 2020!

However, I’m a firm believer in planning and planning some more. So even though one can’t say for sure how a new month is going to go. There’s still space to plan and try to shape the month to work for you.

Growing up, I always looked forward to the 1st of every new month with so much gladness. I love the complimentary exchanges of ‘happy new month” I equally admire how a new month is an opportunity to start afresh.

Here are 3 Thoughtful Things To Do At The Beginning Of The Month.

    Start on a clean slate.

So last month was bleh… But that doesn’t matter anymore, because now it’s a new month. It’s the time to wipe the slate off and start afresh. But before you do, here are some must-do assignments.

    1. List out all your wins from the past month.

    2. List out your losses

    3. What didn’t work out last month?

    4. Rate your finances. Did you make more? did you spend less? were you careless with your finances?

    5. What you are grateful for from last month.

    6. Things/Tasks you didn’t complete.

    7. On a scale of 1-10, rate your productivity and self-growth level from last month.

This activity is very important as it encourages you to reflect.

To have a better month, you must first know the mistakes you’ve made, so you know how to fix it.

    Plan

So you’ve done the task above and now you know the areas you are winning and the ones you are lacking. So go ahead to draw up a plan for the new month. I am big on goal-setting. It is a great way to see the bigger picture.

Write down your plans for the new month under the following categories.

    1. Finances
    2. Career
    3. Personal growth
    4. Leisure and self care
    5. Health
    6. Relationships

    Be Open to Changes

If there’s anything 2020 has taught the world, it’s that nothing is guaranteed. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

I encourage everyone to learn this important lesson because it’s one of the best lessons you will learn in life. Many people, often think once they draft a killer plan or set a near-perfect goal actualization plan, everything will take shape. And when things suddenly don’t go according to plan, they find themselves crestfallen and if they aren’t tough, they fall deeper into a shitty mood.

My advice for you this new month and for the rest of the year is to give room for “Change”. Understand that nothing is set in stone, so be open to having your plans disrupted. That way, perchance it happens, you will dust yourself up and keep moving because you already saw it coming.

These are my top list of things to do at the beginning of the month in order to have a positive and productive month.

    Happy new month everyone.

Remember to Live, Love, Laugh and shine your light on others.

In light of some things that happened recently, I feel compelled to add that this new month, try to be kind to those around you both physically and on social media. You don’t know what many are going through and a little kindness never hurts anyone.
