As a self-declared movie freak, having the ultimate holiday movies playlist plays an important role in getting me all pumped up about the holidays. Christmas happens to be one of the best time for me to do nothing but watch countless Christmas themed movies. And while most Christmas movies tend to have seemingly lacking storylines as they are mostly romantic comedies with the sole aim of making you feel giddy, I absolutely love them. You are probably wondering what an adept movie lover like me is doing loving such movies, Well, I am totally blaming it on the season; there’s something about Christmas that puts you in a relaxed, carefree and soft mood and in moments like that romantic comedies are like chicken soup for the soul.
Just in case you haven’t gotten the memo, this holiday movies playlist will be made up of mostly “boy meets girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after” kind of movies, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. But trust me, as overly saturated as their storylines are, the movies on this holiday movies playlist are nothing short of truly beautiful. Also, about 90% of the movies on this list are from Netflix as your girl has found her Netflix mojo back and with free wifi at my disposal, there is no stopping me.
1. A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby
If your dreams of marrying Prince Harry was stolen by the ever delectable Meghan, you will find this movie to be a great consolation for your broken heart. An absolutely dreamy piece. A Christmas Prince: The royal baby is a Netflix original movie and a continuation to them 2018 movie A Christmas Prince: the royal wedding and the 2017 movie a Christmas Prince. A very interesting movie that embodied the spirit and festivities of Christmas and let’s not forget the stunning scenery in the kingdom of Aldovia.
2. The Princess Switch
A hilarious and charming piece which did a great job at showing how love transcends social class and it set the basis that there’s nothing like Christmas time to make people fall in love. Definitely made the list for one of my favourite movies of 2018. I actually watched it thrice in one week. Yep! It was that interesting. Although the storyline is one we have seen a gazillion times but the interpretation made all the difference.
3. Angela’s Christmas
What happens when a lovely little girl steals the baby, Jesus? Angela’s Christmas is a heartwarming story that teaches us the importance of love and family.
4. Home Alone
Need I say much? Home alone definitely takes the crown for one of the most-watched holiday movies.
5. Shrek The Halls
Shrek is one of my favourite animation characters and although I am all grown, I use the excuse of its Christmas time to indulge my Shrek Spirits.
6.The Christmas Chronicles
This movie was so hilarious! Imagine having a dashingly handsome boy as Santa.
7. Christmas Wedding Planner
This wedding planner goes from planning a wedding to crashing the same wedding and getting married on Christmas day.
8. 48 Christmas Wishes
A holiday movies playlist can’t be complete without an elf story and in 48 Christmas wishes, you get not one but two elves.
9. The Grinch who Stole Christmas
This grumpy Grinch decided to stop Christmas by stealing everything “christmasy” from those around him. You should totally see this if you haven’t, I promise it will be worth your while.
10. The Polar Express
I really like the polar express because it’s one of those movies that help reaffirms one’s faith in the spirit of Christmas as it shows the journey of a boy whose belief in the spirit of Christmas was revived during a train ride.
When I set out to write this post, I was going to do my top ten holiday movies playlist but when I got to number 10, I realized I still had a couple of holiday movies I’ve watched/ I’m watching. so here are the others;
11. Bridget Jones Dairy
12. Four Christmases
13. Christmas Inheritance
14. Elf
15. The Man Who Invented Christmas
16. The Night Before
17. The Holiday Calendar
18. Christmas With A View
19. The Holiday
20. How Sarah Got Her Wings
21. The Spirit Of Christmas
22. Better Watch Out
Not a movie I’ll recommend watching alone but it made the list because it’s a movie that’s quite different from the usual Christmas storylines we are all used to.
23. Klaus- An absolutely beautiful movie that truly embodies the Christmas spirit.
I hope you enjoy these movies as much as I did and don’t forget to share the cheer and embody the holiday spirit. Do you have any favourite Christmas movie? Share them with us.

You’ve got an interesting holiday movies playlist here. Most of the movies here are my favourites. I’ve only seen the first part of ‘A Christmas Prince’ I’m yet to see the Royal Wedding part. And I would love to see ‘The Princess Switch’, I was only able to see its trailer but you’ve watched it like three times already? Wawu…
The Christmas Wish, 2017 I think.
Interesting movie playlist Gift, I love movies and I have been thinking about the ones to watch this season. Although I am not much of a Hollywood lover, I would check out some of the listed movies. By the way, I am a fan of your blog.
